football w/ case closedThe "Football" is a ruggedized, portable combination data-logger/event monitor.  It is based upon the Interceptor-2500 Event Monitor, with several optional components built-in.  There are situations where it is absolutely imperative to collect, store,  retrieve, monitor, and act upon data in remote/hazardous environments.  The football enables data collection in areas where it is impractical/impossible to use a notebook computer with an external data-acquistion device/logger.  It has been designed to take on an aeroplane as carry-on luggage (subject to the discretion of security/airline personnel).

About the name "Football:" We borrowed the name from the cold war jargon.  While shrouded in secrecy, Operation "Drop-Kick" was the code name for the nuclear attack/response plan carried by a military officer who accompanied the US President at all times.  The legend is that the actual briefcase carried by the aides to President Kennedy during the Cuban Missile Crisis was code-named "the football."
